First roll, and some minor damage -

Dan Rodoni experienced his first roll over in The Patriot this past weekend in front of a cheering crowd.  Dan went to make a turn around to head back for the stacks and the truck high sided causing it to flip three quarters the way around.  Well built equipment and quick thinking of both officials and Dan helped to assure the littlest of body damage.  Not only was the roll over part of Dan's bad luck streak, he also broke an axle and locker throughout the weekend causing him to miss out in some racing but he did not disappoint in freestyle.  Andrew Peckham also showed incredible driving skill as he put on a display of driving skills only seen by series veterans.

 Wet, Cold and Muddy -

At the beginning of the weekend the weather was nice and sunny, but when show day come around it was dark clouds and rain.  But Danny and Phil learned to make the best of the conditions.  The racing portion just seemed to be who could slide up the ramps first to capture the win.  But when it came to freestyle it seemed Danny was on kill and he made it look as if it wasn't raining at all.  Tearing up the track and laying down a blistering run hitting everything in sight and really giving the crowd what they had hope to see in perfect weather.  Both Danny and Phil had excellent freestyles and impressive finishes.

 Sunny wild weekend in Merced!

It was a fun and wild weekend in Merced, Ca.  Rookie driver filling in for Phil Foster, Andrew Peckem surprised everyone by pulling out a couple of upsetting round wins against some of the biggest names in the sport; namely Jimmy Creten in his powerful Bounty Hunter.  On Sunday Andrew did more than have some round wins, he won the whole racing event in the finals against Linsey Weenk in Iron Outlaw.  Dan Rodoni also put down some awesome eventful freestyles all weekend catching big air and spinning wild high speed donuts.

THREE RACING WINS TURNS PATRIOT SEASON AROUND

By Monster-Style.com  Staff Writer: Charles Plumlee

Salt Lake City, Utah - For the past month and a half, Dan Rodoni has dealt with the criticism of his sophomore year behind the wheel of his Patriot Monster Truck, however, this past weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah, Rodoni proved everyone wrong. Three straight racing wins, in three events within two days, beating out Charlie Pauken in Grave Digger in the finals every time. It's one thing to win, yet, one thing to beat one of the best Grave Digger pilots back to back to back. Freestyle scores we're solid high 20's, and his wheelie contests we're on par for a top four, proving that Dan Rodoni is on a mission for another great season for the USHRA Monster Jam.

Saturday afternoon, Dan Rodoni and his team took the Grave Digger flag off of Pauken's machine, and proudly waved it on their Patriot Monster Truck. The Patriot race team waved that Digger flag through Saturday’s matinee and Saturday night’s finale in the great state of Utah, as they took the third straight racing win. "We had to give the flag back after Freestyle, but if we had it our way, they'd pick up the flag in Oakland, California next weekend," said Mike Pappas, Crew Chief of the Patriot.

The team is off to Oakland, California this weekend, and then they'll hit Reno, Nevada on March 10th, and then end their Monster Jam season in San Jose, California on March 24th. Dan Rodoni and the Patriot will not be in Las Vegas, for the Monster Jam Word Finals, however that won't let Rodoni down, as he'll be proudly showing thousands of fans that he deserves to be there

SOPHOMORE SEASON STRUGGLES, RODONI KEEPS PUSHING

By Monster-Style.com  Staff Writer: Charles Plumlee

In his Sophmore Season, Dan Radoni piloting The Patriot monster truck based out of Santa Cruz, California hasn't had the best of seasons, however, Radoni hasn't had the worst either.

Halfway through his 8 event season for the USHRA Monster Jam, Radoni has posted solid freestyle scores, and has raced against tough competition week in and week out. Houston, Texas, was the first event for Radoni and the Patriot Monster Truck, and while posting a solid freestyle score of 23, Patriot didn't go too far in Racing. From Houston to the next weekends event in San Francisco, California, Radoni was pushing the truck that much more. In the first round of racing, Dan Radoni took out the second qualifier, Tuff Country, however lost by inches in the second round to Pablo Huffaker in Grave Digger. In Freestyle, Patriot only scored an 18.

San Diego, California, Dan picked up the pace just a bit with a very sold low 20's in Freestyle, and a solid performance in side by side racing, however in Anahiem, California, Dan Radoni pulled out a mid 20's score in Freestyle, and yet another consistent run in side by side racing, once again. The Santa Cruz based Chevy monster truck is far from done, as he has yet again, another 4 weeks coming up, which include Salt Lake City, Utah, Oakland, California, Reno Nevada and San Jose, California on World Finals weekend.

Dan Radoni has also been keeping his team truck, Tropical Thunder, which is piloted by Phil Foster on all fours as well. Phil Foster did well in Houston, Texas, in racing, and scored an 18 for freestyle, however, in San Francisco, Foster and the Tropical Thunder finished third place in Freestyle with a 24 point score, after losing in the first round to Black Smith.

The 2005 Rookie of the Year, Dan Radoni will keep plugging away through-out the 2006 Monster Jam season, as will his teammate, Phil Foster and the Tropical Thunder.
